SERVICE / UI/UX DESIGN

Interfaces people trust, systems teams can scale.

User research, prototyping and design systems that turn complexity into interfaces people actually enjoy using — validated before a line of code is written.

UX · SYSTEMFIG. 03 — UI WIREFRAME

Wave18 provides UI/UX design for web products and websites across the UK and Europe: user research and usability testing, wireframing and prototyping, UI design across web and product, reusable design systems and component libraries, heuristic UX audits, and accessibility design built to WCAG 2.2 AA from the first wireframe. Design work is grounded in research rather than opinion — every interface decision traces back to a user need or a business goal — and is validated with clickable prototypes before a single line of production code is written. Design systems are built as reusable component libraries and design tokens, so new pages and features ship faster and stay visually consistent as a product grows. Every engagement is handed to the same team that builds it, with no gap between what was designed and what ships, and supports layouts that flex for six languages — English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch and Italian. Most design engagements are scoped alongside a web development project starting from £5,000, or quoted individually for standalone audits and systems work.

What we offer

UX Research

User interviews, surveys and analytics review that ground design decisions in real behaviour, not opinion.

UI Design

Interface design across web and product — typography, layout and interaction patterns built for clarity.

Prototyping

Clickable low- and high-fidelity prototypes that test flows and de-risk decisions before development starts.

Design Systems

Reusable component libraries and tokens that keep design and code in sync as the product grows.

UX Audits

Heuristic and usability audits that surface friction points and prioritise fixes by impact.

Accessibility Design

Interfaces designed to WCAG 2.2 AA from the first wireframe, not retrofitted at launch.

CAPABILITIES

Explore each capability

Website & product UI design

Interface design across web and product — typography, layout, colour and interaction patterns built for clarity and conversion, not decoration. Delivered as a system the build team can implement pixel-faithfully, with layouts that flex for six languages.

UX research

User interviews, surveys, and analytics and session review that ground design decisions in real behaviour rather than opinion. The output is a clear, prioritised picture of what users actually need — the input every later design decision traces back to.

Prototyping

Clickable low- and high-fidelity prototypes that let real users test flows before a line of production code is written. Validating the risky parts early is far cheaper than discovering them after build, and it settles internal debates with evidence.

Design systems

Reusable component libraries and design tokens that keep design and code in sync as a product grows. New pages and features ship faster and stay visually consistent, and the system carries accessibility rules in by default rather than bolting them on later.

UX audits

Heuristic and usability audits that surface friction points and prioritise fixes by impact, whether or not we built the original site. A pragmatic way to find the highest-return improvements before committing to a full redesign.

Accessibility design

Interfaces designed to WCAG 2.2 AA from the first wireframe — contrast, focus order, keyboard operation and clear error handling treated as design constraints, checked against real assistive technology, not retrofitted at launch to pass a scanner.

WHY WAVE18

Design decisions, backed by evidence.

Research before pixels

Every design decision traces back to a user need or a business goal, not a passing trend.

Systems, not one-offs

Component-based design systems mean new pages and features ship faster and stay visually consistent.

Accessible by default

WCAG 2.2 AA and EAA-ready design, checked against real assistive technology, not just a contrast checker.

Handed to the team that builds it

The same team that designs the interface builds it, so intent never gets lost in a handover.

Design is a system, not a one-off

Every interface we design is built to scale — reusable, accessible, and consistent by construction.
